Thank you for visiting the La Moye website. We are the parish school for St Brelade with almost 400 pupils on roll, including our nursery unit. This means that we have two classes in every year group.
We are situated in a prime location, close to beautiful beaches and the Railway Walk and we are fortunate enough to have fantastic school grounds including a Forest School, woodland and an allotment, where we grow our own produce. We also have a school dog called Rafferty who is a very friendly cockapoo. He works with the children every day.
We aim to develop the whole child and have two major goals: to aim for high standards in all that we do and to make learning irresistible. Our results are strong year on year and the progress groups of children make is much better than that expected nationally. In addition to this we offer a wide enrichment programme for all pupils which includes visits, visitors, a wide extra-curricular clubs offer and participation in many competitions and events. Our sports teams achieve well in local tournaments and win a number of cups and shields each year. Our outdoor provision is excellent and all children have the opportunity to learn outdoors each week. Please refer to the Annual Report section of the website for further details.
The behaviour of pupils at La Moye is very good and we have a positive behaviour management system which relies on being trusted. We take anti bullying and E:Safety very seriously. Working in partnership with parents is a key priority so that we can get the best out of our children together. Student Council and Parent Forum are key contributors to school improvement and we have a very active and successful PTA.
Our staff team includes teachers and teaching assistants (TAs) with a broad range of experience and expertise. We are proud to be an inclusive school and welcome pupils with a wide variety of needs and from different backgrounds. We take the wellbeing of staff and pupils very seriously and have a fulltime Emotional and Social Learning Assistant (ELSA) on the team. She runs a comprehensive well being programme for those who need it.
Improving children's life chances is our mission and we do this by ensuring that they reach their full potential through high quality teaching and learning as well as by providing children with memorable experiences and opportunities during their time at La Moye.
We look forward to working with you.
